Hello. I’m Cheryl, aka Chessy The Cat, creator of Apocalypse Meow. I’m an old fart and my grammar sucks. In another life I was an accountant. But, I’ve always been an avid reader. I am not a professional writer. What I am is a lover of books. Reading is my passion.

At the request of some of the authors that I read I started doing reviews and posting them on Amazon and then on Goodreads. Several have had me beta read for them which is always fun. Some have asked me if I would do editing work or proofreading for a fee. Though I am totally honored by their requests I have declined as I don’t think I’m at that level right now. The reviews that I post are to help you decide if a book might be the right fit.

Not all books that I review are at the request of the author. I have noted those that are with the following comment so that you know which is which. “I received this book for free from the author for review consideration. This in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.”

And, not all books receive a 5 star rating. I rarely rate a book less than 3 stars. Unfortunately, some books are in need of some serious revisions to get a 3 star or below rating from me.

Rising author, KM Slemons encouraged me to start blogging my reviews. She said I could become the Siskel & Egbert of book reviewers. LOL I applaud her faith in me. And, that’s what we should do, right? Encourage one another!

I will try to blog once per week with a book review. In between I may blog about whatever is on my mind at the moment I feel discussion worthy or to vent. Bear with me and tell your friends. <grin>
